I’m going to attempt a response to one of my writing partner’s recent articles here. I doubt I’ll do justice to probably the most beautiful piece Katherine Tandy Brown has written for Wholly Holistics, but it’s worth a shot. Here goes:             Balance is a nice thing.

The typical holistic fare I usually write about had its origins before I became what I am today. Sounds obvious, but we have to keep in mind our origin stories. What collection of experiences made us who we are today? Me, I started noticing the subtle signs a few years after my first transpersonal experience, which was astral projection.

I gotta say that as I write this, I have the appropriate amount of anger. I mean, if I’m being honest, I’m a little miffed I’m not devoting this whole article to the Masters and/or Arnold Palmer. I’ve only been wanting to write an article on my Super Bowl for over a year and even arranged with my friend and column partner Katherine Brown to have this writing slot to have an article come out during the first full week of April.

Some of us have hidden abilities and now it’s time to claim a fundamental one as your own. Even at a level we want to call mastery, when fundamentals fall by the wayside due to complacency, we have further to go in our so-called mastery. I’ll start off by saying, “To Hell with New Year’s resolutions.”

You probably just read that title and asked, “What the what?” It’s okay, I’m not sure either so just bear with me for a bit. I know there’s nothing new about transmutation, but it’s a fairly new concept for me. Transmutation is defined as the action of changing or the state of being changed into another form.

            As I write this article, we’ve got another full moon coming at us this week. For some of you, that screams, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, “May I ass you some questions?” Hilarious movie, I know, but for a few of us it’s not fun and games. Crazy poop goes down during the full moon and sometimes the new moon.

We all know about hero worship, be it a mentor, parent, athlete, celebrity, or what have you. Do these heroes and heroines deserve a place in our lives? Of course they do, so long as the mantel you place these heroes on isn’t so high it’s humanly impossible to reach them. Mantels have their dangers, but that’s not what I’m here to write about today.
