As part of its ongoing calendar of writers workshops, the nonprofit Pat Conroy Literary Center will host a four-week class on Writing as an Expression of the Soul, led by TZiPi Radonsky and hosted virtually on Zoom, accessible from anywhere. The workshop will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, May 5, 12, 19, and 26. Registration is $100 and limited to 15 participants. In this workshop, participants and the instructor will create a safe space to express your Self through prose, haiku, narrative poetry, to do lists, etc. This is your time to explore the information you withhold, consciously and unconsciously; freeing your inner voice, walking, and breathing into freedom. Week One: Create safe space, defining secrets, why are you here, laundry list of secrets to possibly explore, images to inspire thoughts and writing exercises. Week Two: Build on Week One. What safe space do we need to explore secrets? Where are secrets hidden? Haiku and other writings in the moment. Week Three: How to write about change. What are you learning about yourself and secrets that you wish to write about? Week Four: Build on previous weeks–celebrating closure, intentions for the future, how are secrets and confusion linked? Good secrets and lies explored through writing.
About our instructor: TZiPi Radonsky’s life experiences, professional training, and curiosity inspire her writing. Her roles as woman, mother, occupational therapist, counselor, leadership coach, and rabbi have taught her much about what she does not know.
The Pat Conroy Literary Center is located at 601 Bladen Street in Beaufort and open to the public for tours on Thursdays through Sundays, noon to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free; donations are welcome. Learn more at www.patconroyliterarycenter.org.
