It’s all about music, by George! The Hilton Head Choral Society will present itsspring concert, “Music, By George,” on Friday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 540 William Hilton Parkway. Featuring the 85-voice chorus, along with orchestra, the concert will highlight the Choral Society’s 2019-2020 theme, “The Music In Us All.”
Artistic Director Tim Reynolds has programmed a musical evening filled with light classical, Broadway show tunes, and songs from the Great American Songbook sure to delight concertgoers – including music from George Friedrich Handel to George Gershwin and several Georges in between. Come enjoy some of your favorite tunes including “I Got Rhythm,” “Strike Up the Band” and “Embraceable You” along with music from the coronation of King George VI and George Bizet’s dazzling opera “Carmen.”
“While we’re presenting a lot of George Gershwin in this concert, we thought we’d also give him some good musical company from a wide variety of musical greats that share more than just a name,” said Reynolds. The concert is sure to be a night of unforgettable music – BY GEORGE!
