Beaufort Academy will showcase its new choral ensemble, the BA Blue Notes, in a Spring Concert on Thursday, May 10 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
As our school strengthens its core curriculum, we are embracing the arts,” head of school Dan Durbin said before the group’s holiday concert. “We know that music education has great value in overall academic achievement, and reinforces all our efforts to help students learn to collaborate and strive for excellence.”
The Blue Notes recently performed at a benefit concert with the Duke Symphony Orchestra, where they collaborated on a beautiful version of the Beatles’ classic, “She’s Leaving Home.” The Spring Concert will expand on that Beatles theme, featuring several songs from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, among other selections. The Blue Notes sing under the direction of award-winning choral director and jazz musician, Vic Varner.
The BA Blue Notes Spring Concert is at 7 pm on May 10 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Tickets are $5 at the door.
