Just when you thought this year couldn’t get any nuttier, here comes ‘It’s a Nutty Christmas, apublic art exhibit by local artists whove created 4foot and 6foot painted nutcrackers, all decked out for their annual visit to Beaufort.

A few new nutcrackers have been added to this years holiday festivities, and you can find them guarding the stores on and around Bay Street. Recently, the Freedmans Art District hosted an afternoon where folks created their own personal nutcrackers to welcome you to our localneighborhoods, too.

How nutty are these nutcrackers? Captain Floss, a sparkling white tooth in a classic nutcracker uniform, has arrived to put a gleam in your holiday grin! He’ll be guarding the dental office of Dr, Chris Mohler, one of Beaufort’s  favorite dentists

The feline community has two new nutcrackers to represent them and welcome you to Bay Street’s Rusty Pup, your pet’s fun source for holiday shopping! These cat nutcrackers are spiffed up with official nutcracker regalia (complete with mouse epaulets!)

Duffy’s Antiques has a Nutcracker Fisherman welcoming you to peruse their latest acquisitions, and the Marines are well represented at Finders Keepers, with its superb collections  of musthaves! Modern Jewelers’ Miss Pointsettia Nutcracker seems to be even more sparkling this year, and all over town, the shops are celebrating their newest Nutcrackers!

Visit your favorites stores, both new and old, to see the bright array of nutcrackers guarding our historic downtown this holiday season.
