King Street Arts Center Celebrates Grand Opening

The doors are open, the studios are buzzing, and creativity has officially found a new home on King Street!
The Freedman Arts District invites the community to celebrate the Grand Opening of the King Street Arts Center on Friday, September 25, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 1407 King Street in Beaufort.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the newly revived arts center, meet its resident artists and experience the creative process firsthand. Throughout the evening, artists will welcome visitors into their studios, present live demonstrations and share information about upcoming classes, workshops and creative experiences.
“The King Street Arts Center is more than a building. It is a place where artists, neighbors and visitors can create, connect and build community,” said Cherimie Weatherford, Executive Director of the Freedman Arts District. “We cannot wait to welcome everyone inside and introduce them to the remarkable artists who are bringing this historic building back to life.”
The center offers visitors a rare opportunity to watch artists at work, discover locally created art and handcrafted goods, and find new ways to participate in Beaufort’s growing creative community. From painting, jewelry and mixed media to quilting, traditional techniques and hands-on workshops, there will always be something new to experience.
The Grand Opening is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring friends, meet the artists and discover their own creative voice at Beaufort’s newest destination for art, learning and community.
