It was thought by some that having Philippe Cousteau and Dr. Robert Ballard as guest speakers at the Port Royal Sound Foundation’s first two Night on the Sound events would be too difficult to top, but they’ve done it again with this year’s host, animal expert Jack Hanna. The SOLD-OUT event on October 21st will not only feature a boat cruise on the Chechessee River, great food and inspiring conversation, “Jungle Jack,” as he is affectionately known, is bringing some of his most beloved animal friends too!
The Port Royal Sound Foundation and its Maritime Center located at the foot of the Lemon Island Bridge, will celebrate its 3rd birthday in November. In those 3 short years, they have welcomed well over 7,500 children and 50,000 guests through the Maritime Center and various educational programs. Education about the beautiful Port Royal Sound is their primary focus, and in preparation for the event they spoke to Jack Hanna and he reiterated the importance of the foundation’s work. He expressed how impressed he was at how much has been accomplished in such a short amount of time. As an expert who has traveled the world educating thousands of people, Jack recognized the Port Royal Sound as a world-class body of water and the important role we all play in taking care of it.
