The rhythms and flavors of the Gullah Geechee culture are coming to Lowcountry Celebration Park from noon to 6 p.m. on Oct. 5, when the Fish and Grits Music Festival (FGMF) returns to Hilton Head Island. This family-friendly event features international and local live music, dance performances and unique arts and crafts. Latrese Bush, Marcus Allen, the Reggae Infinity band and the Deninufay African Dance Ensemble will perform. The congressionally recognized Gullah Geechee Corridor spans coastal zones and sea islands from Wilmington, North Carolina to Jacksonville, Florida. Lowcountry Celebration Park is at 94 Pope Ave, HHI. General admission tickets are available online and are $17.50 in advance ($2.37 fee) and $22.50 on Oct. 5 ($2.62 fee) for ages 13 and older, and $5 for ages 6-12 ($1.74 fee).
