Once again, First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort is preparing for a magnificent Nativity Display featuring more than 100 nativity scenes from across the world. As always, this year’s event is a gift to the public and open for all to enjoy on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 9 from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
“It is amazing to see how the Christmas story is depicted by artists from all over the world,” said Donna Sheetz, FPC’s Volunteer Nativity Coordinator. “Whether they are made from banana leaves or oyster shells, wood or fine porcelain – each nativity tells a story unique to the artist’s culture.”
Since 2011, FPC’s Presbyterian Women have been creating and hosting this family-friendly event which has become a new tradition for many looking for a way to start off the season of Advent. The nativities come in all shapes and sizes – some so small they fit in a match box and others that sprawl across an entire table.
The Nativity Celebration will be located in First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort’s Fellowship Hall located at 1201 North Street, Beaufort, SC 29902. This event is free to the public and handicap accessible. All ages are welcome.
